Cleanliness

University Child Development Centers follow a set of hygiene standards to ensure your child’s good health. We take extra precautions and do everything necessary to keep the classrooms clean and disinfected at all times.

We believe that happy children are healthy children, and healthy children are happy children. This is why we take extra precautions and do everything necessary to keep our classrooms and play areas as germ-free as possible:

  • In our infant classrooms, we do not allow any street shoes – anyone who enters must remove their shoes or cover them with special shoe covers that we provide.
  • All of our staff must wear gloves whenever they serve food or change diapers.
  • All of our students and staff must wash their hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water frequently – not only when they visit the restrooms or prepare to eat or serve food.
  • All of the toys in our classrooms must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected regularly.
University Child Development Center takes great pride in maintaining legitimate sanitation standards of the premises. We are highly rated by the NC Department of Environment and the Natural Resources Department of Environmental Health Sanitation.

The categories used for Sanitation Standards Evaluation are hand washing; food; foodservice equipment and utensils; water supply and drinking water; lead poisoning hazards; toilet and lavatory facilities; diaper changing facilities; storage; beds, cots, mats, and linens; toys, equipment, and furniture; personnel; floors, walls, and ceilings; lighting and thermal environment; infectious disease control; wastewater; solid waste; animal and vermin control; outdoor learning environment and premises; swimming and wading pools.
