Our role is to offer encouragement and guidance as the children learn and grow. The overall objective of University Child Development Center is to stimulate the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of children. The quality of our program is determined by an intricate blend of qualified and motivated staff, an excellent work environment, and careful orchestration of the day-today operation, as we seek to guide their paths to knowledge, comprehension, and intellectual growth.

At University Child Development Center, interaction between children and staff provides opportunities for children to develop an understanding of self and others. This interaction is characterized by warmth, personal respect, individuality, and responsiveness. Our staff facilitates interaction among children to provide opportunities for the development of social skills and cognitive maturity – we want our children to be deep thinkers!

Communication between staff and family is based on the concept that parents are the principal influence in the lives of children. Parents are kept well-informed and encouraged to participate as observers and contributors.

At University Child Development Center, we continually strive to provide an environment and curriculum that encourages children to be actively involved in developing their skills. We also strive to maintain the important tradition of child and parent satisfaction.

We believe in our instructors. Many of them have been with us for over 20 years, and their experience and expertise are extremely valuable. Each staff member at University Child Development Center goes through a health screening and criminal background check. We also require references that are checked thoroughly before the employee is hired. In addition, every staff member at UCDC is required to become certified in CPR and First Aid. Our Lead Teachers have their certifications in Early Childhood Education and all of our staff are required to take continuing education throughout the year.

Our Curriculum

The learning program at the University Child Development Center is based on the “Creative Curriculum.” This program reflects the beliefs of Jean Piaget and Jerome Bruner. It emphasizes the fact that the child’s developmental level must determine the structure of the courses and the level of learning activities.

We’ve designed our curriculum to help each child develop the below skills and talents:

  • Utilizing time and energy effectively to make the right choices and decisions on managing things.
  • Ability to identify, pursue, and complete goals and tasks responsibly within the given time frame.
  • Participate in group activities and engage actively with other children and adults.
  • Develop artistic skills.
  • Develop verbal skills by communicating their thoughts, ideas, and feelings with others.
  • Ability to comprehend others’ spoken, written, dramatic, and graphical representations.
  • Build reasoning capabilities and address various situations most effectively.
  • Be creative, take the initiative, and be open to learning new things.

We also offer enrichment programs such as Spanish, STEM, Soccer Shots, and Baby Sign language.
